What is TAB?
TAB is a group of teen leaders dedicated to making our library community a thriving place for teens. It is a forum to have your opinions and suggestions heard. As a member of this advisory group, you will be encouraged to share your ideas regarding anything from teen displays to programming. It is also an opportunity for additional volunteer/ community service hours.
Meetings:
We will met as a group once per month for approximately one hour. During the meeting, we will discuss and plan upcoming activities and programs, and think of ways the library can help teens. We will also discuss/ plan volunteer opportunities to help our community.
*Meetings will be held in person.
Qualifications:
Students grades 9-12
Home schooled students are welcome to join
Must be willing to commit a minimum of 1 hour per month to TAB. You will also have the option to earn double community service hours for assisting with library events throughout the year.
Must be an active participant and willing to respect the opinions of others
How much time will it involve?
TAB will involve one monthly meeting and any additional time you choose to assist in library programs and other volunteer activities, such as setting up/breaking down library programs.
What do Tab members do?
Help make the library a great space for teens by:
Regularly attend monthly meetings
Brainstorm ideas for events
Offer suggestions for young adult library materials
Promote the library, its services and activities in school and in the community
