Scam Alert | Fraudulent Notices April 16, 2026 Reports are being seen with a new scam being send to Florida residents. What appear to be valid Notice of Default is being received via snail mail or delivered electroincally. These notices contain a QR Barcode you can scan with a smart device or phone leading you into a fraudlet transaction or possible highacking of your personal deviced. The Clerk of Court will not send any Court Notice in this fashion. If you have received these types of messages you are urged to immediately delete or mark as Spam. Do not interact with them directly. Updated 04/16/2026 | We are now receiving reports that fraudlet invoices are being mailed or sent electronically demanding payment or the issue of a warrant for arrest will be processed. These again are not valid as the Clerk of Court does not operate in that fashion. An example from Orange County is attached below.
